Don't Diss it 'Til You Try it

Or some people refer to it as "Don't knock it 'til you try it!" I've been guilty of this too many times. Some of the best things that have ever happened to me happened when I stepped outside of my (content) world and really stretched past my comfort zone. It's also what has helped me to be more well-rounded.

Sometimes trying new things are what have pushed me through the times where I felt like I was stuck in a rut...and they often came from moments where at first I thought "Whoa, what are they doing. That looks crazy." OR "Um, okay that looks so nerdy/weird...definitely won't ever see me doing that".  For example, I used to think Zumba and Jazzercise was an old ladies'/non-serious class and that power pump was for hard core body building women....completely opposite! Zumba and power pump are what got me started in going to the gym on a daily basis....well that and a desire to feel better and look good for my hubby. :)

I had a friend that would throw fun jabs at me for taking on 5 and 10ks instead of long distance anymore saying things like "That's for people who are learning or just starting to get into running, you need to get back into halfs with me"...until I started placing in the 5ks and then she said "Hmmm I'll bet I could do that."

It's very rare when I've completely regretted trying something new that I have dissed on before. That's right people, don't dis it til you try it!
